“RISSA”
I deeply believe in the magic of names. I often tell people that when I was grooming dogs I never met a “Baby” or “Precious” worth a damn and I never met a “Bandit” who wasn’t.
When I realized that I was going to finally be getting a granddaughter of my beloved Reva, I started hunting around for a name for the puppy. In the tradition of Reva’s name, “More is Better” I wanted an upbeat, take no prisoners kinda name. I saw the phrase, Raising the Bar, and thought, “That’s cool.” …and then I saw it again…and again. I thought to the Universe, “Okay, I got it. Her name will be Karma’s Raising the Bar.” Her call name is a take on Raising…raisin being a bad call name I shifted the accent is to the I..Rissa.
Rissa has definitely set a high bar. Her “Q” rate trialing in herding, obedience and rally is 90%. Her placement rate (bringing home one of the 1st through 5th place ribbons) is 78%.
The one and only time she was shown in conformation she took her class, Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex.
She is my fifth straight dog to earn a High in Trial.
She is my first dog to earn the Front and Finish Excellence Award for Obedience (FFX-OP) for dogs earning three straight scores in obedience of 195 or above.
Rissa’s strongest gift to me has been in her job as a mom. She has given me two beautiful and talented litters. In her first litter bred to Ch. Legend she gave me my Ducky who has won 4 HITs and over 10 titles as well as her sister Seek who has more than double the titles that her sister has!
When bred to Ch. Buster she again gave me a beautiful set of babies that include a dog who is serving as a service dog for a veteran.
UPDATE: NOVEMBER, 2016 PUPPIES COMING !!!
Rissa is due November 19, 2016. She has been bred to a German import bred dog, Riker. Riker comes from a very talented family that shows great instinct for herding. I am hoping to get a little boy from the litter. Two more of the litter will be going to people that are getting their second Karma dog from me. This is Rissa’s third and final litter for me. If you would like to be considered for a puppy please contact me.
